DAYCARE

Enriching, Rewarding & Educational

Our playcare services are open 5 days a week. Monday through Friday hours are 6:45AM - 7PM.

Saturday daycare, early drop-offs and late pickups are available by appointment.

At Great Dog Daycare your dog will enjoy over 8000 square feet of indoor-outdoor play areas.  We have multiple trained staff members to offer snuggles & oversee playtime activities.  At Great Dog, we have lots of other canine buddies for your dog to play with.  Our great dogs get to take full advantage of your toils at work or time while you run errands.   As a "Great Dog" your dog will get to dash through swimming pools, jump into a game of soccer or bowling, play fetch or the piano, learn through obedience stimulating activities, partake in sunbathing, socialize at sprinkler parties and more!  At Great Dog, your dog will participate a safe, fun atmosphere & will enjoy getting tuckered out during the day.

As one of the area's pioneers in dog daycare, Great Dog has the expertise it takes to care for your dog safely and still offer a fun, interactive environment. We encourage everyone to take a personal tour of our facility, get to know Great Dog & our staff, as well as  find out what daycare can do for your dog.

Play is great, but new research has shown that dogs enriched with engaging cognitive skill programs have better mental, physical and behavioral health. They suggest that cognitive activities and environmental enrichment can positively impact various aspects of canine health, including mental function, stress levels, and overall well-being.  Great Dog has a dedicated enrichment program with activities ranging  from  Kong Play, Nose Games, Puzzle Time, music skills, training tune ups, get a personalized neighborhood walk, to bowling!  Learn about our enrichment add ons!

BEHAVIOR

Dogs in daycare, boarding or attending our Enrichment Room must not exhibit any aggressive behavior for any reason. Any dog exhibiting such behavior will be safely isolated from the rest of the pack and will not be allowed re-admission until such behavior has been modified. We reserve the right to exclude dogs from our services that pose a potential risk to the safety of our dogs and staff or if your dog is unhappy in our pack.

RESERVATIONS & PACKAGES

Reservations are required for all daycare, overnight & enrichment pooches.
Overnight and daycare dogs need to arrive before 2pm.   It helps boarding dogs to drop off earlier.  If your dog will not be attending on a scheduled day, we need to know by 7am of the scheduled day.  Failure to notify us will result in a $10 “no show” charge. If your dog misses (and you fail to notify Great Dog) three or more visits within a sixty-day period, your dog will lose his permanent scheduled spot. This policy is to ensure that dogs on the waiting list get to join us when space allows.

All packages/punch cards need to be used within 60 days. Packages/punch cards expire 60 days after purchase. There are no refunds on unused visits or expired punch cards. Please see our pricing options. All packages/punch card rates are pre-paid. Days over on cards are subject to invoicing and a $20 late fee as well as 5% interest on balances over 1 month. There are no ½ day packages or visits available. There is a $20 fee for all returned checks.

AGE, VACCINATIONS & ALTERING

All dogs must be free of communicable diseases for at least 3 months prior to enrollment. Upon enrollment and re-admission all dogs must be free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize other pets. Documented proof of the dog being parasite-free is required. (fecal).  While we are excited to meet any newly acquired or adopted dogs, we ask that their first visit be no sooner than 14 days after their arrive home.

Puppies are accepted at any age after their second set of shots.

All shots and updates are the responsibility of each dog owner. All dogs over 4 months must have up-to-date vaccinations including:

  • Rabies

  • Distemper/Hepatitis/Parvovirus/Parainvluenza (DHPP 4 in 1),

  • Leptospirosis

All vaccinations must be re-vaccinated upon expiration. The Corona vaccine is recommended for all daycare dogs. Bordetella (kennel cough) must be up to date and renewed every six months. Written proof of vaccinations or titer counts are required. It is the owner’s responsibility to provide Great Dog all shots and medical updates .  Upon application, proof of a recent negative fecal exam is required.

Read About Our Safety Protocols

Spay/Neuter: All dogs over 6 months must be spayed or neutered at the time of evaluation. Proof of alter appointment may be required. Evaluation Process

All of our Daycare and Boarding clients are evaluated for social appropriateness.  Once we have your dog's profile created and vaccinations and a negative fecal verified, we will call to setup an Evaluation to meet your dog, introduce him or her to our pack and see how we all get along!

Evaluations are generally a two hour process.  We have a standardized social and behavioral test that our trained evaluators and canine educators administer.  You will receive a verbal and a written report that outlines your dog's social abilities related to their environmental thresholds, human sociability, play skills, or outlines risky behaviors that may need to be addressed.

Once your pup has passed the evaluation, they are free to join us for play on a regular or as needed basis.  So we can staff appropriately, we take daycare and boarding appointments by reservation.  You can make a reservation by phone, in person on thru the online portal.

Because pack dynamics change, we ask that boarding dogs attend daycare at least once every six months.

Setting up evaluations can be a bit of a process, simply because we have limited evaluations each week.  We don't want to overwhelm our established canine clients too much by adding too many new pups to the pack too quickly.  We take applications thru our portal and will contact you once we have your application, vaccinations, and a recent negative fecal test on file.  Feel free to upload your dog's vaccinations and fecal so everything is ready to go!  We can sometimes get behind on reaching out, simply because our dogs & their staffing come first.  We are sure  you understand that dogs are our priority.
